SPX EcoPure Seal-Less Sanitary Centrifugal Pump
The SPX EcoPure Centrifugal Pump has no Mechanical Seals

The EcoPure™ sanitary centrifugal pump line from SPX represents an innovative range of magnetically driven, hygienic pumps for common applications which require low viscous fluid transfer.

Total containment of the liquid inside the pump is achieved using a hermetically sealed chamber, which isolates the process fluid from the surrounding environment. This eliminates the need for mechanical seals and the associated wear and leakage that would normally be experienced with pumps which incorporate mechanical seal designs. The magnetically driven pumps are therefore not only environmentally friendly (due to no product leakage, or seal flush water to treat), they also contribute to improved process up time in food, beverage, dairy and pharmaceutical plants.

  • No seals to replace or maintain
  • increased uptime, lower maintenance costs
  • less potential for contamination
  • less infrastructure required (no water lines or controls for seal flushing)
  • Key components manufactured from bar stock or forged for high durability, precision and efficiency
  • Pump is designed to virtually eliminate issues associated with vibration, noise, short bearing life, low NPSH requirements, high seal maintenance costs and poor tolerance to adverse operating conditions
  • 3-A certified and EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group) compliant
  • Designed for CIP (Cleaning in Place) as well as SIP (Sterilizing in Place)
  • Suitable for a wide variety of food, beverage and pharmaceutical products
  • Leak-free based on the absence of a mechanical seal.

APV Wi+ Inducer Centrifugal Pump
The APV W+ Inducer Pump

An Inducer is an axial flow impeller with blades that wrap in a helix around a central hub. The inducer rotates in a close-fitting housing to provide a "booster" effect in front of the main impeller.

The inducer pump is the alternative to changing the process design when NPSH availability is low. The inducer boosts the inlet pressure, and the risk of cavitation is correspondingly reduced (the NPSH required typically drops by 50-70%). When the risk of cavitation disappears, so does the risk of a large number of operational disturbances that would otherwise result - such as excessive noise, energy loss, product damage and unnecessary wear on the pump. Low suction head is a common "problem" in miscellaneous applications, e.g. when pumping products with low boiling points or in processes that involve vacuums.

The Wi+ is unique among inducer pumps, since the NPSH requirement is kept to a minimum throughout its entire operating range. The inducer further enables the Wi+ pump to handle viscous or gaseous products beyond the range of other centrifugal pumps.

APV Ws+ Self Priming Sanitary Centrifugal Pump
APV Ws+ Self Priming Sanitary Centrifugal Pump

The self-priming Ws+ is designed to handle CIP return and other fluids with entrained air and foam. The unique design reduces the energy consumption and noise of traditional liquid ring pumps by using a high efficiency impeller that can be trimmed to match a specific duty. The Ws+ employs a built in eccentric air screw to form the liquid ring required for its self-priming capability.

•20-90% more efficient than other liquid rings due to improved fluid flow through pump.
•Performance optimised by matching impeller size to duty.
•Low noise level: Due to its hydraulic design the noise level of the Ws+ is significantly lower than traditional liquid ring pumps.
•3A (optional) and EHEDG approved.
•Interchangeable with W+ parts. Inventory is reduced by sharing common parts.
•Less prone to damage. Small objects can pass through pump with minimal damage.
